February, 21 - 23, 2008, IUAV University of Venice:

IAIA Italia First National Conference on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)

More than 150 participants representing the main Institutions, Authorities and Environmental Protection Agencies, besides students and SEA experts took part in the event.

Professor Michael Schlesinger, world expert in Climate Change and Professor Leonard Ortolano from Stanford University gave their key contribution as speakers.

March, 9, 2007, University of Bologna:

IAIA Italia First National Workshop

The event saw the participation of national and regional environmental assessment and control Institutions besides many representatives of Local Authorities.

This workshop represented a significant moment of debate and discussion on relevant topics related to environmental assessment and the roles and responsibilities of new operators in Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).

April, 6-11, 2010, Geneve: International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) 30th Annual Conference “Transitioning to the Green Economy” - IAIA Italia partecipate with a presentation under the section “The World of SEA”.

March, 10 – 12 Marzo, 2010, Parma: Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health organized by WHO—Europe - IAIA Italia in collaboration with IAIA presents a side event called “Protecting and Improving Human Health through Strategic Environmental Assessment”.

March, 5-6, 2010, Catania: Regulatory and technical instruments for the Strategic Environmental Assessment of urban plans”, held in Catania — IAIA Italia participates with a talk related to the coordination between assessment processess and cumulative impacts.

Conferences and training courses 2006-2009:

May, 17-22, 2009: International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) Annual Conference “Impact Assessment and Human Well-Being”, Accra, Ghana.

May, 4-10, 2008: International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) Annual Conference “The Art and Science of Impact Assessment”, Perth, Australia.

February, 29th, 2008: Course on waste and water resources at the National Environmental Authority of the Umbria Region (Umbria AATO 3), in collaboration with “Diritto Ambiente” (www.dirittoambiente.net ). The course was attended by 600 participants from all over Italy.

November, 23^rd, 2007: Course on "Risk analysis for the remediation of contaminated sites: theory, practical and concrete examples of application" at the Regional Environmental Protection Agency of the Abruzzo Region (ARTA Abruzzo), in collaboration with “Diritto Ambiente”( www.dirittoambiente.net). The course focused on the use of GIS in risk analysis of contaminated sites.

November, 20^th, 2007: Participation in the Congress "The Italian mountains between conservation and development” and presentation of a case study on Strategic Environmental Assessment applied to a plan for tourism development and conservation of natural resources.

October, 18^th, 25^th, 2007: Seminar on “Environmental risk assessment” held at the Italian Environmental Sciences Association (AISA), Section of Parma.

October, 21^st, 2007: International Congress "Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. A park for the XXI Century. From model to model, to networks" held in Pescasseroli, Abruzzo.

June, 2^nd-9^th 2007: Participation in the Annual Conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) "Growth, Conservation and Responsibility", Seoul, Korea.

November, 21^st, 2006: Presentation of IAIA and IAIA Italia at the School of Belfiore, Mantova (Italy).
